Art Summer Camps 2009

June 29 - July 3

This is three hours of open-ended art exploration for preschoolers! There will be several stations set up with a variety of art meduims and ways to play. All projects will be developmentally appropriate and 100% fun and mess! We will make our own classroom castle to paint and decorate as well as discovering the many ways to use paint. For example, did you know that you can fill a stocking full of beans and use it as a paint brush? Your child will squoosh, moosh, and squeeze clay, play-doh, and several other materials that will have them smiling from ear to ear. The morning will include story time, snack time, and energetic dancing.

June 29 - July 3

This camp is for the curious artist who is willing to get messy and have fun! We will paint a starry night like Van Gogh and get crazy while becoming a super star artist! Get excited because we will use clay, oil pastels, paint, collage, and sculpture to create all types of artwork. The week will end with your artist in the spotlight when we set up a real art show to display their fabulous work!

July 6-10

Fabulous Fashion Frenzy  9am-3pm    $200    Suggested ages 9-16

Have a blast as we use yarn, silk, string, ribbon, paint, tie-dye and so much more to create colorfully eclectic pieces of artwork that you can wear! We will make crazy woven purses, silk tie-dyed scarves; we will even transform old clothes into fabulous new fashion statements! Show off your artistic style in this camp by walking the Masterpiece runway in your new apparel!

July 13-17

Paper Making & Painting    9am-3pm    $200   Suggested ages 7-14

Learn how to make your very own paper using all different sizes and colors! We will add confetti, glitter, wire, ribbon, food coloring, flowers, and whatever else we can think of to create unique, creative paper from scratch! There are lots of projects that your paper could be used for. You could make a book, or paint a one of a kind Masterpiece! Maybe we will just have to do both this summer! To top it off, we will study a famous painter (like Van Gogh or Picasso!) and do some painting on canvas!

July 27-31

Sculpt-a-Maniacs!   9am-3pm   $200    Suggested ages 7-14

Do you like to use wood, paper mache, clay, plaster, and wire? Then join us for a week of building, constructing, shaping, molding, and painting all types of sculptures. Your imagination will soar as high as the sky and so will your artwork! We will create buildings, animals, and anything else that comes from your wild imagination!

Middle/High School Summer Sessions

Dates: July 7, 9, 14, 16, 28, & 30 ***No classes the week of July 20th***
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Price: $150 (Includes all food and art supplies!)
